I have previously used a wide range of cameras including Ixus5 and 70. This one is really the Bees’ knees for snapshot photography, with a level of control available when wanted along with excellent fully automatic function. The quality of the pictures in most conditions is excellent though high contrast photos (eg containing snow rocks and people in sunny conditions) were a problem for the auto exposure and required some thought and spot metering to obtain the desired exposure. It starts quickly, has excellent battery life and is amazingly compact. The 28mm equivalent wide angle is great. I do miss a viewfinder when bright light behind me, but no other problem
