Canon PowerShot A580 Digital Camera Canon PowerShot A580 Digital Camera -Silver (8.0MP, 4xOptical Zoom) 2.5″ LCD makes it simple to take great photos with a host of automatic features, including Easy mode for the ultimate in hassle-free shooting. Enhanced Face Detection Technology lets you capture bright, sharp faces every time.

New for 2008, Motion Detection Technology is included in PowerShot models for the first time. This clever technology helps to combat blur caused by movement such as the kids running around, or by camera-shake as you take a quick snapshot. Motion Detection Technology corrects just the right amount for blur-free images at maximum quality.

Face Select & Track also comes to the PowerShot A-series for the first time. Perfect for taking photos in crowded situations – like sports days, birthdays and crowded tourist attractions – Face Select & Track locks onto a face of your choice and continually updates the settings for the best results. Whenever you choose to take your shot, you get an in-focus, natural-looking face. The auto focus system has been enhanced on all three cameras, for improved performance in low light situations.

Helpful consumer’s review
My previous camera, a Pentax Optio E10, was stolen when we were on holiday on the Costa del Sol in June, so once home and Insurance sorted I spent what seemed like hours and hours looking at digital cameras and the reviews submitted.
I evenutally decided on the Canon Powershot A580 and I am really glad I did. Purchased online from Amazon.co.uk and delivered within two days along with a 2GB memory disk and carrier pouch.
My main worry initially was the batteries. My first camera, a Nikon Coolpix 2100 was horrendous, good little camera but seemed to go through batteries(rechargeables) very very fast and was very frustrating. The Pentax was reasonably ok but I was concerned when I read the Canon used alkaline batteries, but so far so good.
We went on a Med cruise end of August which is why I wanted a replacement camera and I was very happy with this camera. So far original batteries still going strong and very happy with the pics I took.
Also process of transferring pics from camera to PC appears to be easy and straight forward so would thoroughly recommend this camera for ease of use and reasonable cost and good picture quality.

  • Kevin: That doesn't even address the poor driver. It doesn't and kodak has no plans to support linux and block developers from working on one due to copyrig
  • printercartridgesupplies: Great all-in-one printer from other printers because of its advance features.
  • printercartridgesupplies: This epson printer features best fits offices. I wasn't surprised it offers better quality prints and is also a faster printer.
