Pentax K110D 6MP Digital SLR Pentax K110D 6MP Digital SLR with smc DA 18 – 55mm lens [6MP, 3x optical] combines 6.1 effective megapixels with a host of advanced technologies to deliver high-quality digital SLR photography and user-friendly operation to all levels of photographers. The ease of use, advanced features, and attractive price also make the Pentax K110D digital SLR a perfect choice for users moving up from a point-and-shoot camera. Both the K110D and the K100D reflect a new digital SLR naming system that references the reverse compatibility that each body has with the legacy of Pentax K-mount lenses.

The K110D’s sophisticated SAFOX VIII autofocus system features 11 sensor points (with nine cross-type sensors) to automatically focus on the subject with utmost precision, even when it is positioned off center. The in-focus sensor point is automatically superimposed in red in the viewfinder for at-a-glance confirmation. This high-precision AF system offers a choice of two AF modes: the conventional single AF, and the continuous AF, which maintains focus on the moving subject as long as the shutter release button is pressed halfway down. (The continuous AF mode is selectable by the user only when P, Tv, Av, M, or B is selected as a shooting mode on the mode dial. This mode is automatically activated by the camera when the Auto Picture Program, or one of the Picture or Scene modes, is selected.)

Helpful consumer’s review
I’d picked up a Fuji E900 last year which got me back into photography for the first time since my school days. I’ve always wanted to own an SLR camera but was put off by the price. Having seen this on Amazon for just a touch more than a Canon Ixus 900 I decided to take the plunge and I’m very glad I did. The manual looked daunting at first, especially as I’m the type not to read it, so stuck it on auto and set out to take some pics. The first thing that struck me is how the camera is reassuringly well built, feeling solid and of very good quality. I set it to auto and went out to take some scenic and close up shots. The lcd screen is good enough to see what you need, you can always zoom in for detail. On returning home I installed the software that comes with it so I could access the raw files I’d taken and was extremely happy with the results. It took quality pictures in a variety of light and proximity circumstances, the sharpness was impressive. I am now making my way through the manual and learning how to use it to the manner of which it befits. I’m sure the EOS 400Ds of this world have their benefits but this camera satisfies all the needs of the first time DSLR user and I’m happy to pocket the couple of hundred quid difference.

My one recommendation would be to get some decent rechargable batteries, no battery charger with this. It doesn’t eat batteries but for long term use you’ll need some rechargables, got a good deal on a uniross charger and batteries for peanuts on Amazon so I’m very happy.

  • Kevin: That doesn't even address the poor driver. It doesn't and kodak has no plans to support linux and block developers from working on one due to copyrig
  • printercartridgesupplies: Great all-in-one printer from other printers because of its advance features.
  • printercartridgesupplies: This epson printer features best fits offices. I wasn't surprised it offers better quality prints and is also a faster printer.
